Improving your golf swing

If you want to be a better player and improve your game than one thing
you must master is your golf swing. This is by far the most important
thing to practise and is one you should do constantly if you want to be a
better player. You can be excellent at putting or a great bunker player
but if you can't get the ball anywhere near the green then these will do
you no favours whatsoever! You can practice your golf swing anywhere, it
doesn't have to be at your local golf course. You will almost certainly
have a field or sports area nearby, where you can just go and hit a few
balls. Alternatively there are nets available that you can put in your
backyard and hit the ball into them which means they'll be no broken
windows at yours or your neighbours house. These are available from most
golf stores and even many major superstores at a very reasonable price.

The golf swing incorporates 3 major movements. The first is the
backswing. This is where you bring the club up behing the head and twist
your body round to face in the opposite direction. Next comes the
downswing, which is where you'll build up the most power and bring the
club down to hit the ball. The final movement is the follow through. This
is where the club will go over your opposite shoulder once you have hit
the ball. The most important thing that you will learn when practising
your golf swing is to try to relax. Obviously this isn't always easy to
do, especially if there are people watching you. The problem if you are
tense is that you will be more likely to not hit the ball as you would
want to as you will not follow through correctly.

There are many ways you can use on improving your golf swing. Getting
lessons may seem quite expensive but can actually save you weeks or even
years on getting a swing that works everytime. It is always worth finding
out how much lessons will cost at your local golf club and then you can
make a decision. Most clubs have their own golf pro will be able to
assist you in improving your game.
